Is there such a thing as being heavy boned? lots of fat people put their weight down to 'heavy bones' but as you put on weight your bones get bigger anyway to support the weight.

yes, its called a frame, i was very thin at one time, & my bones were a good size, my friend is very thin & her frame is extremely small, her bones are very tiny, looks like if she fell down she would break everything!! but she is the same height as i am, so yes there are different size frames.

Actually, yes there is. But it is no excuse for having a high body fat percentage. But for people that are just a little overweight, but have an acceptable body fat percentage, heavy bones can sometimes be the reason as well as a higher muscle mass. HTH : )

No such thing. Their bones are just surrounded by heavy doses of fat. As paraphased from the doctor on Celebrity Fit Club.

yes, but there is a BIG difference between being fat and "big boned". Some people genectically have smaller/thinner bones than others. Have you heard the term "hard-Headed"? Some people do really have "harder" (thicker) heads than others.
