the volumizing shampoo has to have a follow up use styling products to add volume to your style, most people cry about the same thing as you but when you tell them what to do they say I don't put anything in my hair and they don't want to change...So it's up to you, products or flat hair forever...By the way if your hair isn't layered do that 1st of all and then ask your stylist how to get max volume she'll be happy to tell you. As a stylist there is no better pride for me than to see my customers keep up their style till the next visit. Hair stylists can help but we don't work miracles that's where you have to do your part...good luck

Texurizing products will help you somewhat. Most hair product lines will have this specific product. Joyco, and Big Sexy Hair product lines are really good. You can also get alot of professional products in grocery stores, now. Raleys carries some, I know. It's better to go to a Beauty Supply Store or a Salon though...they have the best selection. Your hair stylist can also do a texturizing treatment on your hair...it is a chemical treatment, but it will help.
Also, try Root Lift products (most hair lines have them), when your hair is almost dry, spray the roots one section at a time and then blow dry. You can flip your hair upside down and blow dry or blow dry in the opposite direction than you want your hair to lay...this will give awesome lift to your roots!
Make sure, if you use conditioner, to only put it on the very ends of your hair. If you put it on, or anywhere near your roots, you'll end up with hair that is very weighed down, or hair that becomes oily, quicker.
Just to let you know...if you do get extensions, prepare to spend alot of money. You will hate your hair if you ever take them out. Also, hair falls out all over the place when you have them in...my friend has them and whenever she gets ready at my house...there is hair everywhere! Also, she cannot wear alot of hairstyles, because you can see where they were attached...she has some very good extensions, too, so that is not the problem...you can just see and feel them.
If you want to put clips in your natural hair, try spraying your hair with a hairspray, texurizing spray, or thickening spray, first. You might want to tease it or backcomb it, with a pick or small comb, also. Do not overdo it, though, this can break your hair if you are not careful.
One more thing...sleep with your hair in a ponytail on top of your head, or leave it in a high ponytail for an hour or two before styling and it will give you some volume, as will big velcro rollers....make sure you spray your hair w/product first. Good luck.

I also have thin hair,, or as my hairdesser says baby hair, and i'm 38 lol. I've tried all the shampoo's you can think of and nothing really works, it took over 2 years for my hair to get long from my last hair cut, it's just reached between my shoulder blades, the only way i can get my hair to look thick is to cut it short, my hair dresser told me, keeping it long weights it down and no matter what you do it will stay like that, so if all else fails i suggest keeping it cut short if you want it to look thick, and it does look thicker short.*sighs*. yeah i know you probably like longer hair, i do too, but if it's cut short enough you can curl it then that may help.
good luck.

You don't say how old you are. When I was a teenager growing up, my hair was super thin. I tried everything....rollers that you slept in, hot rollers, curling iron but nothing worked. When I was old enough, I went to perms. I loved those and they worked, but they can be expensive. I eventually just went to straight hair. It's a little above shoulder length now, but it's all in the way it is cut. IF, you can find a hairdresser that can cut fine hair, stick with her or him. It's rare to find tho. I find if the cut is good you can use a curling iron on it and have something decent. Also, a product I have to use is Aussie Gel, and then I let it dry a bit and then style it with the curling iron. Good luck sweetie.

There could be medical reasons behind your hair .
*Stress
* Form of Alopecia
If your hair falls out a lot, or you get a lot of strands in your hands while using the shower, See a doctor !
You can get hair extensions, Don't get them glued or bonded to your hair, or else Yes, they will damage your hair, Get micro links, wefts or clip ins, Have a look through e-bay, type in hair extensions, I'm not telling you to buy from ebay, but just browse through and get an idea of costs and what they're like. I myself, have bought extensions of ebay, ( power rings) and they worked amazingly they can stay into your hair for up to a year and i only paid $200 for 200 strands of HUMAN hair and pliers to apply, and the power rings were already attached.

You should get hair extensions that could help you. And some people found that putting highlights in there hair made there hair look thicker. You should be a little happy some people have really thick hair.

I certainly have dark brown thick hair clearly. whilst that's dark brown it seems healthy, vivid, and sounds like I certainly have much less hair & thinner. Thats merely an phantasm, style of like once you place on black outfits, you seem thinner. once I get fairly blonde highlights throughout, it seems fairly thick, broken, and sounds like I certainly have a ton of hair and you will see each and every layer and attitude. one million.) dark brown skinny hair doesnt seem undesirable. 2.) dark hair wont fairly make your hair seem thicker in case you have skinny hair first of all. There are alot of things accessible to make your hair seem greater volumized alongside with shampoos. additionally ensure you're taking a diet extensive-unfold and eat perfect foodstuff. Your hair gets greater healthy.

A blunt cut will make it look thicker. Trim ends frequently. Avoid bangs because you need volume at the ends. Maybe pinning it on rollers to dry will give extra volume (if the pins will stay in).

first of all, don't panic. you have a few options.
you can try growing it a bit longer then getting it done curly or wavey. that would at least look bigger.
you can also try dying with Henna, which would make thin hair thicker and stronger (it also makes it red).
another option is to try a professional hair mask. go to a few hair salons and ask them for reccomended products.
what ever you do, don't get extentions. they look and feel fake, and will only brake your hair.

hmm.. this seems like a tricky question but i would have to say first go to your hairdresser and ask them wat to do... if they are no help then try getting layers in your hair. it will make it look like u have extensions and will make your hair seem much thicker! it worked for me and now i just adore my hair!! oh and get bangs! they always help with the layers (oh and u need a really good hairdresser to do this because it is very rare to find someone good at that) well good luck!
