People love dogs, cats, goats ,keep them in their bedroom too. but the same Hindu persons though highly religious he feel himself hate his fellow humanbeing, touching them cause sin as per his perception of Hinduism.
What I believe is, a Great(?) religion like Hinduism can not and should not permit untouchabilty, those Godmen, Pujaries, pandits are commiting sin everyday for not doing anything against this.

the original caste system did not even have 'untouchability' and the most common myth about the whole caste system thing is that it runs through families eg a brahman's son must be a brahman.
because originally it didnt work that way at all.
originally a person was placed into a caste by the brahmans based on their skill and qualities. and the person would agree to it all, and it was extremely successful.
However eventualy many of the kshatriya (royalty) and a handful of brahmans became corrupt and wanted their children to remain in the same caste as them so that they could remain powerful. therefore they came up with new rules which stated that all there descendants MUST be the same caste as them....it was these same corrupted people who came up with the whole concept of 'untouchability' this was because they feared that many of these 'inferiors' could eventually take over them if they were found to have better suited qualities than the kshatriya/brahman children and feared that they would lose power.....so untouchability ment that they could not ever come into contact with the 'superiors' and so would never be able to surpass them.
so the caste system which is present today with dalits etc means nothing it is all bs

I've seen a sannyasin giving fruit to an untouchable woman by THROWING kelas to her in case he might accidentally touch her. And when they take sannyasa diksha they formally RENOUNCE caste! They wrap their sacred thread in paper with mantras written on it and throw it into the Ganga river - I've seen this several times. This means they formally "throw away" caste distinctions. So....
This whole thing started when PERSIAN (Aryan) invaders came into the Indus valley and found a darker people. Then they invented the whole caste setup in order to have eternal SERVANTS.
That's why it's called VARNA (color). Get it? The darker, the worse according to these Aryans. So there you are. From there it developed into what it is today. Actually these people invented APARTHEID, and not the South African whites.
How absurd. And there's no sign of things changing. Very unfortunate. Especially for dalits.
Shanti!

Untouchability is not a part of Hinduism. It crept it's way into Hinduism slowly and steadily.
Jati did exist, but ecery individual perforled functions that he was apt at, casts did exist but there was a thin borderline, why else do we have Rama the Lord eating berries that too tasted by Shabri?

Hinduism is great, it doesnt mean it has no mistakes. And moreover, the caste system is not in religion, it came as a custom, to enrich society by dividing works between people of society ( like plumber, potter, soldier, priest), gradually, people with higher rank ( like priest, soldier) started to think they are previliged and untouchability came in. However, hindus themselves critised it and changed a lot. There is no where said to divide people on caste system in hinduism.

INFACT THERE IS NO OTHER RELIGION IN THE WORLD EXCEPT HINDUISM WHICH PROMOTES UNTOUCHABLITY...REASON IS SIMPLE HINDUISM IS NOT A RELIGION IT IS A WAY OF LIFE WHICH STEMS FROM THE BASIC FEAR IN HUMAN NATURE ABOUT THE NATURE ITSELF...
WHICH RESULTED IN WORSHIPPING ALL THAT HAS POWER OF LIFE OR POWER TO DESTROY...YOU HAVE A FIRE GOD WIND GOD RAIN GOD STORM GOD ,,,THE SUN IS WORSHIPPED TOO...AND IN PRESENT TIMES MONEY HAS POWER SO IT IS WORSHIPPED TOO...UNTOUCHABILITY IS ONLY ONE OF THE MANY VICES IN HINDUISM...

No body can be blamed. It is all historical conditioning. It is so everywhere ... because it is human nature. Everyone has some kind of historical baggage that results in prejudices and hatreds. Only enlightenment can save us. No amount of reasoning will satisfy you.
