Some people say that you train your hair to be greasy if you wash it every day. I have horribly oily hair though, and I can't stand going a day without washing my hair. Use a shampoo with citrus in it, it's good at removing extra oil. Always scrub your scalp...The WHOLE scalp. And make sure that you rinse out all shampoo, and ALL conditioner. Leaving in some of the conditioner will not make your hair softer, just greasier. And don't brush your hair too much. You'll stimulate the sebaceous glands in you scalp and make it produce more oils.

Actually washing every day may encourage oiliness because your scalp will overcompensate with oil production when you strip it of your natural oils on a daily basis, leaving you with even oilier hair. If possible, try to make yourself wash your hair only twice a week, and use a conditioner every day only on hair ends. The water from the shower every day will help cut some of the oils and the conditioner will help keep ends from getting dried out. Your body will eventually get the hint and stop producing so much oil on the scalp.

I have this problem too. I wash my hair every other day. if I wait any longer I feel like there has been an oil spill on my head!

I just use a shampoo, making sure to scrub the scalp and the sides of the head, and conditioner only at the ends of the hair. a citrusy shampoo and conditioner are good because the fruit acids neutralize the oil. and remember to rinse thoroughly!

to prevent greasiness: wash your hair with something like citre shine or mane and tail. only do a deep condition once a week...other than that don't condition. If you have to condition for some reason use minimal amounts. Don't use special sprays to make your hair shinier.
to fix the shininess when you don't have time to redo your hair: use baby powder and a blush brush. pour a bit of baby powder out and then swirl it with your blush brush. Dust it on the roots of your hair if it looks gray or white simply pu tyour fingers by your scalp and shake them...good luck!

Wash every other day, (every day washing can cause drying of the scalp which leads to extra oil production) don't use too much conditioner or styling products, and leave it alone! Handling it will stimulate your scalp to produce more oil, so keep your hands out of it.

By not washing it too often and do not use moisturizing products as it will increase geassiness. 3 times a week should be a max for you and for the moisture part your natural oils will take care of it

wash it more often, or if it gets that way fast, try rinsing with water (no shampoo or anything) one day, then regular wash the next day.

don't put any oils or greases in your hair. but your hair gets really dry. I have to keep my hair greased though. For me it helps my hair grow so that's why I have to keep it greased
