God gave every single person the gift of free will.
"follow the world"? The "world" will never be in total agreement on anything. So what PART of the "world" should you follow?
Do you mean "follow" or "make" your own decisions? Big difference.
So, not really sure what you're trying to ask.

Our decisions have to be based on something - we choose what to believe. No, we should not follow the standards set by 'the world.' Look at what's happening out there! Our country was built on standards set by God's principles. We began as a Christian nation, but because of 'wordly beliefs, doubts, myths, lies, etc.,' man has chosen to abandon God's ways and go astray. The result of man turning from God is God allowing man to suffer his own consequences...then people say, "if God loved us He would do something!!!" He did do something and people don't want to pay attention - the 'world' is in trouble, our ONLY hope is in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Well, sinse Satan is the king of this world.... we should follow our own decisions. Every person is born with the light of Christ. Which allows us to know good from evil.
We have to follow the light within, stay close to the Lord, read and pray daily............and choose the right in all things. This will keep us in tune with the Spirit and the Lord then can direct us in our decisions that will really be important in the eternal aspects of our life.
The world will make you beleive in instant gratification...........eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.............NOT so...........everything you do will be accounted for you for either good or bad works.
I for one........am on the Lords side in this battle of good vs evil.

If everyone is jumping off the bridge, will you follow?
I think, the first step would be to evaluate the reasons behind people's actions. If they're jumping off the said bridge because there is a tiger coming their way, I'd say jump! But if they're just jumping "because everyone else is doing it", I'd say don't jump.
So, in the end, you should be the one making your own decisions. Just because everyone is doing it, doesn't mean it's the right decision.

Take your own decicion in keeping with the ongoing worlds demands. In general terms if you are not flowing with the stream you are nowhere. Take balanced decision in a manner you are taking your own decisions but you are not drifting from the present day culture and thinking.

Follow your own decisions. Because in the end you are accountable only for yourself...weither it be to yourself or to God. A good rule of thumb is if you are in doubt...don't do it.

In America, we get the privilege & opportunity to have our own opinions and to make our own decisions, so i think we should take advantage of it and not take it for granted...
