For 3 weeks or so, I havent been able to taste anything right. Food nor drinks. Almost 2 months ago I had my thyroid taken out. I havent changed anything else. I quit smoking this last Friday. But I dont think that has to do with not being able to taste things since its recent. Could it be due to not having a thyroid? Because the doctors told me it wont alter my tastes. Or could it something else? Thank you.

A few years ago, whenever I ate certain foods, they didn't taste quite right. Then one day one side of my mouth didn't move when I smiled, and my left eye wouldn't close all the way. I remembered that for a couple of weeks, whenever I washed my hair in the shower, I got shampoo in my left eye. The next morning I went to the doctor and she told me I had Bell's Palsy. I mentioned the food not tasting quite right and the doctor said that was a symptom of Bell's Palsy. Does your face work symetrically? Are you getting soap in one of your eyes? I also could not whistle. Try to whistle. If you can't, it's probably Bell's Palsy. I was treated with steriods and was fine within a week.

sinus issues. If you can't smell, you can't taste very much if at all.
