I'm not sure when the original Morris passed away. But he lived a long and good full life. The cats you see now are also named Morris because that is 9 Lives mascot, an orange cat named Morris. Check out the links and see if they are of any use to you.

Which one...I think there have been 2 or more Morris's by now. The original died...but they just end up replacing him with a look alike Morris.
