If it were up to me they wouldn't have a choice, no one would be allowed to murder their babies. That's what abortion is, murder.

Because it is absolutely none of the parents buisness... when she goes to her local clinic they offer FREE therapy plus a chance a new life again. Do you honestly think a young teenager is ready to be a good mother, not normally, no. (I'm not saying that a young mother can't be a good one I'm speaking purely statistically.)

Say for instance say there is a young girl of 14 who has an overly strict religous family... now say that same girl had gotten raped... if the parents decided it was against their religion to abort the fetus, now you have a 14 yr old girl carring her rapists child? Are you serious? Can you imagine what would be going through her head? How she would feel about herself and her child? How could she love that baby the same?

Even if the sex was consentual, the girl's parents had no say in her having sex and they shouldn't have any say in what she decides to do. Are you saying that it'd be ok if that same girl wanted to keep her baby and her parents didn't want her too? If you give parents the option to say "No my child is not having an abortion" you're giving parents the right to say "My child is not having this baby". Can you imagine being that girl having an abortion if she doesn't want to? An abortion is a tough enough desition to make let alone unwillingly.

**After seeing how unpopular my answer is I would really like to say that I hope no one here isever put in a position where they need to make a decision like this. It is a horrible spot to be put in and to have your life put on hold so young is devistating. I know unless you know someone who had an abortion or unless you had one yourself you'll never really know what emotions are envolved, but I would at least hope other people would have some sort of compassion for the person who ended the life of thier soon-to-be child because for the rest of their life they will be wondering what they're missing out on not having that child in thier life.

And SHANIA T as far as I'm concerned you are a utterly horrible person. How dare you say that you are mad at your daughter for the life atlering decision she had to make? I'm assuming that you expressed your feeling of disapprovement to your daughter and I can gaurentee you that no matter how much of a "good parent" you felt you were being by wanting her to go through with having a child she didn't want, she will never be able to be open with you again. I hope you're happy with yourself that you made your daughter feel even worse about herself and what she did and I hope you realize that you permanently damaged you and daughter's relationship**

Because some teenage girls are in very real danger of being battered or even murdered by their parents, if the parents find out she's pregnant.

In a case of rape or incest, the teen should be allowed to make her own decision. The second abortion should require councilling ... If it is a user pay health care system, and the health care system is not expected to cary the burden of cost, then it's that persons choise if they want to pay for that type of birth control... it's better that adding to the burden of the overused welfare system we have in place in Ontario now.....
The abuser will eventually render herself unable to give birth eventually. WE NEED BETTER EDUCATION FOR OUR YOUTH.

No. Developmentally speaking teenagers do not have the appropriate mental capacity to make appropriate decisions of this nature. Unfortunately neither to many of our young adults.

I wouldn't. I say if they think they are old enough to get pregnant then they are old enough to lose their freedom.
