The notion of God is evolved with the intellectual capacity of human brain. People believed in spirits and assumed that behind every natural phenomenon there is a deity that makes it happen. There was a god for thunders, a god for winds, a god for fertility and a god for creation, a god for death and a god for birth. Gods were abounding and they were all the products of human’s imagination.
In the old days there were many gods. All these gods had prophets, intermediaries and messengers. This was then, as is now, a very lucrative and enticing business. It gave the prophets immense prestige and a lot of power.
If it was so easy to prove the existence of God, then I challenge, the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims to invoke their god and ask him to perform the same miracle in front of TV cameras, (without any tricks) to settle this controversy about his existence once and for all.

Put it this way:
There is no evidence of any kind that "god" created man. There is considerable evidence that man evolved to his present form just like all other life did on this planet, completely without any "supernatural" help.
There is also considerable evidence, given the vast variety of god-like myths used over the millenia by peoples of various cultures, that men invented god-like myths. Current christians who don't know history often give me a laugh, saying things like "the bible is the oldest known writing" (completely wrong, there is writing many thousands of years older than the bible) or "christianity is the oldest religion in the world" (also completely wrong, the Egyptians maintained their "gods" Ra, Osiris, Isis, etc. since at least 8,000 BC and some still worship them today). They are ignorant of the history of gods and religions and people and the earth.

Some one much smarter than me once said "I do not know if God created man, but I do know that if God did not create man, then man would have created God."
Man created God.
There is not one shred of legitimate court-submittable evidence found anywhere within 15 billion light-years within the universe that God created man.
There is a mountain of court-submittable evidence that man created God.
There is also a mountain of evidence that having 90% of the people believe that God created man had been beneficial to civilization. With 90% of people wrongly believing in God, civilization has benefited and I like it that way. I will just never be one of them.

Good question... and one we won't know the answer to until we die. There's logic to the argument of God being created as a deterrent for wrong doing but, on a personal note, I'd rather believe there is a God - just in case I have to face him on the day of judgement.

God did indeed create man.
God is the final and complete judge of all of our decisions and actions.
I'm not fooled.

to choose one of these, i should know if there is god, and none of the sacred books give a proof, but just praise him.
So, i would say man has created religion.

Far be it from me to convince a non-believer such as yourself, of the existence of God. But as far as being fooled, it is not I, sweetie pie! May God forgive you!
