If the vet said that the kitten is fine, I would probably trust them, unless you notice that nothing has changed after awhile.

I think our dog is anorexic or something too. Unlike most other dogs who eat as much food as there is in their dish, he will just grab a few bites here or there.

If you feel like giving your kitten a treat, I think that plain baked chicken is a favorite of our gatos. Once they smell the chicken coming out of the oven they start goin crazy, and actually beg like dogs while we are eating, its weird.

It seems it would be difficult for your vet to diagnose his condition without actually checking him over. Something is definitely wrong, if he was eating and then suddenly stopped.

He may have something caught in his mouth or throat that you can't see. Does he have difficulty swallowing? I'm sure you vet already asked this, didn't he?

Could be a tooth or gum disease.

I had an old cat who had problems with his teeth and gums. He had an antibiotic medication in liquid form, and as I recall, some drops for his gums as well.

He would eat strained meat baby food when I couldn't get him to eat anything else. There are many flavors: beef, ham, chicken, turkey, veal.

Have you tried a different type of feeding dish? If you've been putting his food in plastic, try metal or a paper plate. Just try something different, and you might try placing his food in another area. Cats do not like their food dishes around their litter boxes, for exampel.

This one has me stumped. But you have to do something; he can't go without eating. The cat will become dehydrated and/or develop digestive/elimination problems. I'd check again with the vet.

Good luck

Maybe you're giving your kitten the cheapest kind of kitten food. I'd suggest go to local pet shop and get better kitten food, there's a lot out there they cost a bit more but it's worth it.

Royal Cainn, Nutra maxx, (so many better). when my kitten was small, he does not like any kitten food made by Purina and Whiskas, so I'd suggest try different kitten food. Many pet shop would be happy to give you some samples to see which your kitten likes the best. My three year old cat now likes Nutra Maxx.

Sorry to hear that your kitten won't eat anything, so i'd suggest switch his dry food soon as possible to "kitten" types of food. You also can use wet canned or pouches of food once a day. The kitten should have high protein food it will encourage better growth.

Homemade Kitty Yum Yums
1/2 cup Dry cat food, 1/4 cup Warm water or milk,
3 Tablespoons Catnip

Put the cat food and milk/water into a bowl and mix well. Pour out any extra water. Sprinkle the catnip over the mixture and mix well. If you like you may bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.

No kitten or cat can resist! Website below for more tantalizing recipes for the "I'm not hungry Cat". Also, try canned mackerel (rich in protein) that all felines need in their diet.

Give it SOME milk not alot because milk is bad for a cat, then just leave some soft food out for a day then if he/she doesnt eat then i reccomend a new vet! then get your cat in ASAP!

That's not normal. I'd find another vet other than the one you spoke to and TAKE him there first thing Monday morning. There's a variety of things that could be wrong with your kitten.

Maybe your cat is sick because usually when cat's don't eat it's because there not feeling to good all cat's can get sick it's a common thing. My cat doesn't drink his water. you should try getting him a different brand of food.
