prayer is a very powerful tool. most people have no idea on how to do it or how it works. Living in a self-centered society most people pray for personal gain( money, material things) or when there really in a bind that's when they seem to reach out the most. Others have learned that prayer is as habit forming as eating. When used properly it's overwhelming. We usually have to hurt first in order to pray effectively, God wants us to reach out to Him but all the time not just an occasion when we seem to want or desire. We must be thankful to God not only for what we have, but also for what we don't have.

No, I don't feel the same, I understand your point though. I feel people pray a lot more than they realize. More often than not it's usually because they've heard bad news, that someone is ill etc, and that a silent prayer is immediately sent for that person and their loved ones, without the sender being conscience that they've done it.
I think that people need to send more prayers of thanks. I went to the beach this morning, the wind was warm, the sun was shining, and I just said my prayers as I walked along, in the first part to all the people that need a bit of support and in the second to give thanks for all the lovely things, experiences, people that enrich lives. Whoever and wherever they may be.

lol. I imagine so. It's human nature. Pity people don't seem to realize that's a bad reason to pray.

As for praying, myself, sometimes but not the Christian god. I pray to the god and goddess. And if you want to chat about religion, you might like to take it to the religion section of ya.

yes i do feel that way. most people have forgotten that prayer is talking to god about every thing. not just asking him for things. but i do know a lot of people who pray for others as much as for themselfves. its not all about personal gain.

I sometimes feel that about certain people, but I know that me and my husband pray for people we don't even know on a daily basis when needed.
