Depends on where you work. If You work in a Public Scholl (Goverment) pays your Salary...around 18,000 but You have Great Benefits..Lots of State and Federal Holidays Off..Plus the 2 months Vacation..

If You find a Fancy Private School like Calvin, St.Johns or a Military Academy were classses are in English..You'll get a better Salary.

Very, very, very LOW!!!! If you do that in PR you will always be la pobre boricua (I may be exagerating....but you will never be the rich boricua...) I know a teacher that has been teaching for 30 years (she retires this year, by the way...) and she makes $24,000 a year. So I guess that you start around $18,000 - $20,000. And yes, it is true that private schools pay less than public ones, because you can even teach without a certification. I am a teacher and I wouldn't go back to my beautiful island to teach. I am making twice that amount as a bilingual teacher in Dallas,TX. There are no beaches, no great weather, but it pays a whole lot more.

absolutely horrible to be a teacher in Puerto Rico you have to sign up to the government to a wait list and while you wait {a couple of months I think } you are obligated to teach in a private schoolwhich the salary is extremely low About $200 weekly in my school dont be discouraged in public is about a thousand or more monthy more than a private school

Education pay in PR is possibly pretty bad right now. Find out if their "srike" is even done.
