Why do muslims lie and say that the head scarf protect muslim women against rape? why do muslim women think it is a form of respec ? why do muslims lie and say that western female dress make them more likly to be raped? In the deeply muslim country of Pakistan the Pakistani human rights commitee , who draws its staff from only muslims has found this:
"The issue of the offence of rape has become a matter of concern for the (Pakistani) civil society. The annual report of 2002 of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan dealing with violence against women shows that 'one woman is being raped in every two hours and one woman is gang raped in every eight hours in Pakistan'. And most of the cases go unreported because of social taboos and the stigma that wretched act carries against a woman. This is an appalling situation and calls for some immediate remedial steps to better the situation."
just when yopu think it cant get any worse how about being whipped because you were raped?

If she is unable to put forth the witnesses she herself is liable for adultery (and can be imprisoned or put to death for adultery). Absurd. In one case, a blind girl, Safia Bibi, who had been raped was convicted on charges of adultery because she could not identify her attacker.
On the other hand pregnancy is considered to be an absolute proof for having committed the offence. Jehan Mina a 15 year minor girl was sentenced to 100 stripes, as she was found pregnant. Her two male relatives had raped her. The Federal Shariat Court while taking a 'charitable view' reduced the number of stripes to ten. Safia Bibi's case brought shaming tragedy to the whole nation as the world media flashed the news. The victim of this Ordinance, Safia Bibi was blind. She was raped. She was unable to identify her rapist and thus was sentenced as her pregnancy served an absolute proof against her. Ironically enough the Judge while passing the judgement wrote, ' taking lenient view due to Safia Bibi's blin

TEHRAN, Sep 28 (IPS) - In Iran it is difficult to figure out when a person is considered an adult. According to Article 49 of the Islamic Penal Code the age of legal responsibility is nine years for girls and 15 for boys. Youngsters of both sexes, however, have to wait until they are 16 to vote in elections, and 18 to open a bank account, get a driver's license, or sell property in their names.
They can be hanged at any age.

In 2004, Atefeh Sahaaleh Rajabi was hastily tried and hanged in Neka in northern Iran. Her case drew international attention because she had no access to legal counsel. Although court documents said she had been 22 at the time of her hanging, her birth certificate and her father's identity information later proved she was only 16.
Sahaaleh was found guilty by the state of having unlawful sex four times. Human rights activists, however, say the girl suffered psychological problems and was repeatedly raped by a 51-year-old man, according to an Amnesty International report and a BBC documentary. She was hanged. He was sentenced to 100 lashes.
