I don't actually believe that, but growing up in a fanatical Catholic household, it kept me up alot of nights. "Freewill" is not an answer either, because it's not freewill if you exercise it and are punished for making the wrong choice.

That is exactly why the bible is pure fiction. It makes no sense.

The very same reason a farmer plants a crop. You take the good and discard the bad. Only in this crop the seeds have a choice if they want to grow or not.

May GOD richly bless you.

What is the purpose of the world? even of the universe? of your life? of mine? one answer. To glorify God. Everything ever created has one purpose, to glorify Him. I do not believe in free will when it comes to salvation, I dont think it's biblical. (i do however believe that we do have some free will when it comes to our lives.) God chooses us. I know many people don't believe this, because it's not easy to accept, but the Bible says we are spiritually DEAD before He calls us. So, if thats so, how can a dead person call themself to wake up to truth? they cant. freewill is not an answer. I think the pure fact that we cant even choose to save ourselves shows God's supremecy, and our inadequacy, thus, glorifying God.
But more on ur question, when God created the world, yes, He knew that mankind would sin against Him, and that the appropriate punishment would have to be given, but He Himself did not make Adam and Eve sin in the garden, they did that out of their own free will. But man's free will acts inside God's will. Nothing will ever happen that is apart from God's will. So why would all of that happen? it glorifies Him. It glorifies Him that he is able to show different aspects of Himself. By the fall of man, His holyness is shown, as it contrasts with our own sin nature. Through His saving us, His mercy and grace are shown. And by His punishment on those who dont have His son, His justice and wrath are shown. All this goes back to my original point, everything's purpose is to glorify Him.

How is free will NOT an answer??? With the gift of free will, we're also given the responsibility of our actions/decisions (consequences).

God gives us everything we need in order to make the right choice. Satan provides a LOT in the way of deception and distraction by providing pursuit and worship of false gods (greed, lust, power, fame, allah, etc).

Free will IS the answer. It's the ONLY answer.

There is no Hell. Only the Hell that One creates with there own beliefs. If one turns there attention to a Hell, then they see hell for what they want to see it as.

god gives u the brains to choose between right and wrong. if u choose to do the worst kind of wrong{killing, rape, etc} for the majority of ur life and never sincerely repent for ur wrong doing then u will go to hell. I don't think the majority of people do that, ergo the majority of people will not go to hell

I didn't realize that anyone had the stat sheet yet on how many souls were going to enjoy eternal perdition.

In other words, how, precisely, do you know how many people will "wind up in hell"?

Hell is here on earth...I have absolutely no idea why sane and otherwise smart people believe propaganda (with no basis in fact) from religion. How you live your life is what matters...all the rest is BS.

Hi,
It IS freewill though.
God said: thou shalt no...
AND YET WE DO- SO THIS IS PROOF THAT WE CAN DO THINGS THAT WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO, OBVIOUSLY.
*The thing is....The fact you are asking the question reveals that you DO KNOW ENOUGH TRUTH, TO LOOK FOR THE ANSWER.
IF YOU REJECT IT, (LIKE A CURE FOR A SICKNESS, NO ONE FORCES THE SOLUTION) WE CAN RECEIVE THE GIFT OF GOD, OR NOT.
*IT IS THIS CUT AND DRY....SCARY HUGH?

Light entertainment, eternity probably gets awfully dull.

If we are created in His image, and with at least (in some small way) a smattering of some of His characteristics, wouldn't that indicate that His sense of humor is even more twisted than anything any of us could come up with...
