I don't have children.
And I've never been pregnant. So I've never had to go through the agony of anything to do with any sort of "Termination".
I was just hellishly careful. I simply didn't feel the need for kids. Was it because "everyone else" was having them? Yup. I saw friends saddled with kids and I knew I wasn't meant for that life.
I felt the "Overpopulation Crush" 30 years ago.
I'm not Steven Hawking and I'm nothing so extraordinary that my genes need to live on.
If you asked 100 people who have kids:
How many were"planned" ?
If those people were honest and didn't have to identify themselves, I'd bet you would have an amazing percentage of people who are happy they had "those particular children", but given the choice, they wouldn't have done it that way. They would have changed up something, and I'll bet it was to have less children.
I made my choice and I live with it. I know my genes won't pass on through me. Somehow it simply doesn't matter.
I am not who I am through my children's achievements.
I have none.
I guess it's all up to me.
And that's okay.
Was it because of overpopulation?
It played a part; Yes.

That is why I had a vasectomy 20 years ago. I chose to be child free when I was 20. Most of my HS friends already had kids by then. It was very clear that none of them put any thought into it at all.
The fact is nobody really plans to have children. Or at least they rarely do. Most of them just don’t have the presence of mind to use birth control. Most of my friends say condoms are lame (they say the same about motorcycle helmets, so that should give you a clue about how much real thought that they put into things).

Yes, not just because of overpopulation but the more kids you have the less you're going to be able to do for for each one. Kids need quality individual attention from their parents, too many children may prevent that from happening despite the parents' best efforts.

I didn't even think about that, and if someone was to brought it
up then I would not even consider of not having kids just because
of the over populated. That would of been our choice and no one
else's. When you decide to have your kids don't think about the
population, think of the baby, that you will bring into this world.
The love that you will be giving. Oh and I only have 2 girls and they can have the rest of the kids, and then theirs my grand-daughters and can bring in more children. Were not not the type
of people to have lots of kids.

Yes, of course you should think of that. It is a reason I have no kids, and if I have any it will be one only.
I live in the Philippines, and there is a lot of poverty due to overpopulation. If everyone thinks that their contribution doesn't matter, tha problem will continue.

No i dont think about it...cause theres people that have like 13 kids and no one says anything to them about it...you know and then theres people that has four or 5 different kids by different guys and no one talks to them about it...i just deal with mine and thats it...the adoption process is sooo long and draining...then theres the chance they may actually back out then you've got all this stuff for a baby you dont even have that was never yours to begin with ...goodluck...

People should care, but in the heat of the moment, who would? I don't think many people do care. It is not something that just often comes across their mind, probably. Good question!

no I don't I have two and I only want two. Other people in this area are military so they pop out babies to get more money or get on welfare to have more money for themselves. I think it is unfair to the children and they will never have any time with their parents.

No...I think it's my decision how big or little I want my family to be...regardless of how many people are already on this earth.
