Great question....I don't think we can...Undocumented workers have been here since the dawn of time......Suddenly, everyone is up in arms about it, clearly its a political issue....It will blow over once the elections are over.....And as for drugs, this country has become a very stressful place to live....We are addicted to both legal and illegal drugs....We want instant gratification, as a result, we have a bad drug and alcohol abuse problem....An obesity rate that is the highest for any developed country and a debt problem that isn't going away, anytime soon....

The cure for undocumented (illegal) cheap labor is easy - prosecute the employers who hire them with a law that has some teeth in it - hit them with hefty fines and use the money to shore up our border patrols. When the aliens don't have any incentives to wade across the Rio Grande, the problem will be solved.
The lust for illegal drugs is a can of worms. Long jail terms and criminal records don't seem to be a deterrent - and they're expensive policies. Education seems to be our best bet - and I don't know if that's the answer either. It's a very complex problem, as evidenced by the total ineptness of our "war on drugs" to bring about any real, positive results.
Drug testing is so unreliable that it has become almost a joke in the workplace - and erroneous results can ruin a person's reputation and chances for other employment.
However, effective and RELIABLE drug testing as a condition of employment might be an effective method of curbing the demand - but the testing would have to be necessarily infallible in its results.

You know, just because someone is willing to buy something doesn't mean someone else has to cut off people's heads and throw them onto club floors to protect their distribution line.
I agree we need to address drugs at both ends. I disagree that it is the recreational drug user's fault that Mexico is becoming Columbia-ized. After all, if the US drug use is the whole cause, why wasn't the US Columbia-ized long ago?
There is such a thing as 'cracking down'. I agree that we have to do it. Closing the border to all but authorized traffic is a part of that.
On the cheap labor front, we need to make it too expensive for the labor to break the law to get the job and too expensive for the employer to offer the job.

America isn't the only country with a drug abuse problem so you're ignorant to even bring that up. And America isn't the only country with an undocumented worker problem, most Americans are very much against illegal aliens and are working very hard to get a handle on this problem.

Americans don't want cheap labor, Americans want high paying jobs. If America can get back on track then we can go back to one parent working the other one at home. This will help stop the use of illegal drugs in the U.S.
Illegal immigration and NAFTA destroy the family structure that allows children to make bad decisions, thus contributing to drug abuse. America needs to get back on track, and Mexico needs to strive to become more like America.

I don't have a need for illegal drugs nor does my fiance have a need to hire cheap undocumented illegal labor.
America as a whole, doesn't need any of this, The minds of the weak and cheap need " illegal drugs" and " cheap labor ".
Close the borders and deport all illegal aliens.

Enforce the laws already in place. Illegal drugs are illegal. Put people in prison for dealing drugs. Eliminate those distributing it. Find those businesses that hire illegals and take their business away from them. One way or another people need to realize that this is a battle inside our borders already.

By getting the government to actually do something defensive, rather than offensive, for a change. The 700-mile long fence proposal has absolutely no way to pay for it, and it is only going to stretch about 1/3 of the border with Mexico.
And THAT is the government's best attempt to secure our borders. What a joke this administration is!!!!

She can't. America has become a whore who thrives on hatred, greed, lies, racism, and money. If America doesn't control herself, she will become nothing more than a page in the history books.

2 ways: Get the US/Mexico border fence built and stop the drugs, and stop handing out welfare checks to lazy people. Snap, bang, boom, problem SOLVED! LOL
