by religious figures for disproving religion, should we start jailing religious figures for trying to disprove logic?

I mean, according to reality there is no such thing as a bearded pixie living in the clouds. And if you don't obey his rules, you're going to be tossed into a fire pit. That's right. Getting prodded in the behind for eternity by a half man/half goat with hooves and horns.

I don't really mean for them to be jailed, come on now. But you see my point? . The truth lies in science not the bible is the point. If we could prove there was a beginning of the world then the god theory is still good, but if there was no beginning there would be no need for a creator. There I just proved it with logic. Try again.

So you are saying that since religous figures wrongly persecuted scientists that somehow makes it okay for scientist etc.. to persecute religous figures? your "logic" doesn't add up, isn't behavior that is wrong always wrong?

For the most part science and religion have gone hand in hand (except for maybe the last 50-100 years).

You literally could not tell the difference, so your initial premise ("scientists have been jailed..") is wrong.

Response:

Galileo? I thought you said, "..scientist have been jailed throughout history.."

You meant to say *one* scientist?

Thanks for the 'history' lesson.

You initial premise remains wrong.

Oh, and by the way, Galileo remained a faithful Catholic his whole life.

No John, two wrongs, as they say. Your point is well taken however. But even logic cannot disprove god, anymore than it can prove it. For me, I go with logic every time.
Peace

No don't punish them-get their views out in the open, challenge them and thereby destroy their intellectual credibility.
