If your bf just couldn't get over his ex, and he kept making excuses as to why he couldn't cut all ties to her, and asked if you'd just step back and give him and her 1 month........would you do it?
She on the other hand detests him. She says he discusts her.
Should I just hope he gets hurt more in the outcome and move on?

This is only going to lead you to heart ache. He needs to sort himself out before he can move on. Believe me its taken me years to get over my ex and sometimes i still dont think i am. I have since had a few disasterous relationships because of this. Im now on my own and i feel its for the best at the moment.
he will probably get hurt more but he has to go through this. Leave him to sort himself out. Maybe if your still single when he has then you can think about having a relationship. if its meant to be then it will happen

This is harsh, but it sounds like he is still not over his ex. Until he is - he cannot give you what you deserve from a relationship.
