if your good friends with a person of the opposite sex and arent sure if they feel the same, but dont want to lose their friendship, weigh up both side, but the only way you'll ever know is to take the leap of faith and ask them outright.
not easy, and could end in tears, BUT it could be the best thing youve ever done.
its a hard one, whatever you do, good luck!

You tell them with the way you act. That way you can't spoil it with the wrong words.
The way you act should NEVER be as a doormat.
Instead you want to be all loving things to each other such as:
like Best-Friends
have mutual respect
caring and sharing in an equal and balalnced way
EXPECT to be treated fairly, and give the same in return
Be spicy and fun to be with
but never mean
It is ok to let the care show in your eyes
and it is ok to say in a fun way:
"You really make me feel happy when I'm with you." IF IT IS TRUE
If you are feeling rather "desperate" something is wrong.
Be yourself, expect the other person to like it, be fun, bubbly, and outgoing.
Be understanding, and be the best that you are
THEN be confident that ALL of what you are is attractive.
If you are all these loving things,
and you make it clear in a fun way, that you expect to be treated well in return
then all good things will follow.
You'll be very "lovable" and if the other person has any sense at all, they'll fall for you hard.
It may take time, it usually does take time to develop a relationship with all this
so that it will last.
Don't be afraid to hug and be hugged;
let nature take it's course after that.
Don't be a doormat
Do be spicy, fun and open
I wish you love

It all depends on the person you will be talking to. If you really feel the need to do so then you sit down and tell them that you don't want to spoil any relationship or friendship you may have with them and tell them what you feel. If they don't respond the way you want, tell them that it is ok and you just had to get that out of your system, and you still want to be Friends and let it only be that way.

I did that very thing just a few nights ago. The guy said that he would be willing to give a relationship a shot. However, last night, we had a serious discussion, cleared up some things, and decided to go back to building on our great friendship. We still love and care about each other, but just as friends.

If you have a relationship that is solid, sincere and true, then telling that person your true feelings is not only appropriate .. but required to keep your friendship true with no secrets!

You have to take risks in life. Just take it slow, listen carefully, and be gentle.

if what you need to tell them will spoil what you have, then don't tell them, as it's clearly one-sided.
