I to had broad Yorkshire accent
then delibratly changed it.
noticed younger relatives have slight
dialect,they watch lots of TV

i reckon so... i used to have quite a broad yorkie accent as a kid, but now it's a lot more generic...its probably a combination of things, people move around more, thus you pick things up from friends you speak to etc etc... but why do u think accents exist in the first place?

There will always be pockets of unique regional dialects, but there is undoubtedly a homogenization of English occurring. This current process should peak around the year 2051 according to research.

Yes and its seriously gettin on my baps! Whats all this 24/7 business and people saying period at the end of a sentence?? So american, so annoying.
