i'm not sure that you can use colors as a condition in the conditional formatting. I could possibly point you in the right direction as far as setting up an effective budget that will optimize all of your data. Just send me a email if you would like some help on your budget.

The SumIF function would not replace colours for particular cells it purely returns solutions below a condition. The greater moderen function to SumIF is DSum it extremely is greater versatile (area if Database applications selection). in case you pick for to alter colours for a sort cellular's values, then use conditional formatting and set the cost option to a 'formulation is...'. The source field can save a logical condition that can incorporate applications and different cellular references. This application is discovered from the format menu, Conditional format (Excel 2003). in case you furnish an occasion, then i will make sparkling this added. wish this helped.

Click on the cell where you want the answer. Type "=SUM(" then click the first cell you want to total and drag across all the cells you wish to total. Release the drag, Type ")" and press enter.

Note: Do not type the quotes.

If the cells are colored by "conditional formatting" (under format menu), you can use the same condition in "SUMIF" (function). I don't know how to use the color as a condition in SUMIF.
