He wouldn't ask "do you love me" unless he was interested in your answer. Then upon silence, he probably used a defense mechanism and said he was just kidding. He's not kidding, and "you left him hanging". If you do, tell him, if not, explain that to him. Theres nothing worse than putting your self out there and having no responce.

well because you didnt reply he said he was just playing. hes probably scared becuase he didnt get the answer he was hoping for.
For him to ask you in the first place says he wanted a yes answer otherwise why would he bother asking at all.
youve just dented his pride a bit, he ll get over it.
But ask yourself why didnt you answer. Are you scared? Maybe you two need to sit down and talk this through.

He is definitely scared cause men fall in love after the first kiss, or am I wrong. If it was after sex it probably was just in the moment so watch out. Some men just say the words to make you think they care when they actually don't!!!!!!

He just scared. Believe me, he will ask u the same question again only in a week.

He is scared cuz when a lady/girl does not answer that ? he thinks "Oh she does not like me let me just play it off!" So when u did not answer he knew it was a no and felt embarrassed. So he tried to play it off.
It happened to me, he just got red when I looked at him like wat r u talking bout I do not like u.

i think he feels a little embarrased by your silence and used "i'm just playing" as a save.
