In a recent Q about theology and research, myavatar said she'd got a leaflet saying if there were more Jehovah's Witnesses the Holocaust wouldn't have happened (which struck her as unscholarly). But in fairness to the JWs I think it might have been saying that, because all JWs are conscientious objectors to war, if everybody had been like them, there wouldn't have been a war (hence, no Holocaust). I have never seen this leaflet, though. New System Lady asked us to check the latest tract they're distributing world wide. Is this the same leaflet?

If my guess is correct, there's a problem. The theory looks good until we realise that JWs say the final war of Armageddon is about to erupt and only good JWs can reasonably hope to survive it. So if 7 million baptised JWs survive (give or take a few million) that means BILLIONS of people will die a horrible death. Puts the Holocaust in the shade. I'm all for pacifism and won't knock the JWs for that, but can't they see the problem?

Christianity is unique in that it has no provision for its earthly adherents to engage in warfare. Those ostensible "Christians" who do so ignore the Scriptures and the teachings and example of Jesus Christ himself.

(Matthew 26:52) Jesus said to him: “Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword

(Isaiah 2:4) They will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.

(2 Corinthians 10:3-4) We do not wage warfare according to what we are in the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly

(Luke 6:27-29) I [Jesus] say to you who are listening, Continue to love your enemies, to do good to those hating you, to bless those cursing you, to pray for those who are insulting you. To him that strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also

Dear Sasi,

Maybe forming your opinion on something that you have not seen/read/studied by yourself personally but by reading someone else's comment on it is not the best thing to do. Why don't you get a copy and read it first, then form your opinion? You might not think there is a problem after reading it yourself.
Of course you might still have the same question, but at least you got all the information first-hand instead of second-hand.

Just a suggestion.

P.S. I think you are a nice person who raises questions without knocking people down, though having a different view on things. This forum would be a much nicer place if everyone is nice like you.

The fact is Sasi, whether you agree with it or not, God is going to bring destruction upon an ungodly world just as sure as he did the flood of Noah's day. (Matthew 24:36-39)

Yes, the point is that JWs don't fight in war so there would be no wars if everyone thought along those lines. Much bloodshed has happened in the name of religion.
The leaflet I mentioned is being distributed worldwide. Stop any Jehovah's Witness you see and they will give you one.
It is entitled "The End of False Religion is Near" and its content involves every one of us today
The difference between the holocaust & God's war is obvious if you examine the scriptures. God's judgement is righteous.

Remember Sasi, this is God's judgement not ours

Unfortunately, many will die at Armegeddon. Consider this Scripture at Revelation 19:17,18--"And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid heaven, Come and be gathered together unto the great supper of God; that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of them that sit thereon, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, and small and great." Notice it says "great supper." These are the ones who worship the "wild beast" and it's image and are part of "Babylon the Great," the world empire of all false religion.
People have been and are still being warned to "get out of her" before her destruction occurs. They are still being warned to stop giving worship to the beast and it's image. (all political and governmental powers) They must break all ties to both if they are to survive God's final war against all wickedness.
That is the purpose of the worldwide message we are presenting; to save as many lives as we can before the end comes.
Matthew 24:14--" And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come." ASV

I honestly think the only objection the JWs could have to the Holocaust was that they didn't use Jehovah to justify it.

I was brought up as a JW, and believe me, I was subjected to many a tale of rapine, massacre and ethnic cleansing, all told from the bible, and all told with relish. They gleefully await Armageddon, when everyone who didn't buy a watchtower will die horribly, (Despite the fact that so many of their predicted dates for Armageddon have come and gone)

They make much of the fact that many JWs ended up in concentration camps, and many died for their faith.

However, they skip over the fact that the leaders of the Watchtower Bible and Tract society cut many a deal with the Nazi's, and that Himmler and Hoess considered them model prisoners, particularly because of their willingness to snitch on the Jews, and considered making the witness religion the official faith of the conquered territories of the east.

I'm sure most JWs reading this will have fits, but the evidence is all out there, if your elders would let you look!
