Some people believe that the Bible was meant to be taken literally on that issue, and so they are offended. Because it seems like the Bible is somehow lying if it did not mean it literally.

Buddha was never described that way. You seem to confuse metaphor with skepticism. Why shouldn't well-meaning, religious and curious people be skeptical when reading about virgin birth? And why is Mary pure because she didn't have a sexual encounter to conceive? Because for eons, religion has made sex out to be a necessary evil--dirty and vile, which, unfortunately, it has often become because of pornography and the like

properly, i'd think of it became type of glaring from how that's used interior the bible; to grant a human with a divine lineage. with the aid of fact goddess worship preceded judaism and christianity, perhaps that often is the inspiration of it- that humanity sprang from the goddess, i.e., she became the writer of humanity. As loopy because it may sound, from what i've got examine greater desirable than as quickly as that's believed that at one time human beings did no longer understand that copulation became what delivered approximately the beginning of infants, which perhaps is in part the rationalization the female became so honored, and that would unquestionably be "the" unique of the belief of virgin beginning. with the aid of fact the creators of christianity have been working with a fantastically wealthy stew of delusion, i assume you're able to arise with a ton of loaded meanings if so.

If it is a metaphor then it no longer is a miracle. If it is not a miracle then nothing is present to verify the divinity. When you say that virgin birth is a metaphor you are saying that it was a title given by humans and therefore a matter of opinion.

Most people are more comfortable with a literal interpretation of religious concepts, because they find it more palatable and easier to understand.
It is for this reason monotheistic religions were not too popular; other than Judaism and Islam, nobody worships the ONE God.

they also forget there is another reason -- in Ancient Times the word " Virgin " meant a young girl or younger Lady.

I do not, anything is possible with God even aliens, other planets so far away from us that are just like us and worship the same God, and reincarnation. Just because the bible does not say it does not make it not true.

Simple research will show that your question is totally flawed.
Why would people react so negatively to this?
