I have met someone I really love from china and want her to come so we can be married, but I do not know the imigration laws. I am a convicted felon and do not know if that will stop the plan to get married.

it really depends on the country that you are from...i know most countries allow a fiance visa where their partner is allowed to come over before the wedding and allowed to stay after the wedding...being an ex-con should not affect this, unless you want to go to their country and live

Fiancee Visas require proof that you have met (in person). Depending on which is easier, one of you needs to visit the other and get pics in front of identifyiable landmarks. This may not be strictly necessary, but does cut down on the questions and reduce the holdups. I am assuming that you are not presently serving a term and that the conviction was not for domestic violence. Either pretty well kills your chances.
You might try checking out some of the "Mail Order Bride" aka foreign dating sites. Most of the good ones include a lot of info on the fiancee visa, paperwork requirements, legal requirements, etc. Most will let you browse that area without joining.

go to yahoo and ask on the search. You will get current information there. I wish you and her all the best of luck. I went through that myself and it didn't work out but I tried and I can say that much at least. You will need an immigration attorney as well. Good luck.

FYI Canada does NOT have a fiancee category.

You must either have lived common-law for 12 months and have the proof, or be actually married.

I don't think it will stop you from being married. Once you marry her she will be able to live in the United States legally. Are you sure she loves you in return? Are you sure she's not just trying to marry you to obtain her citizenship?
