Two weeks in Thailand will remove all signs of depression.
If you want to cure youself pemanently, take a 10 day Tai Chi course with my mate in Chiang Mai. He'll show you around, and teach you how to get rid of depression, as well as learning the art of Tai Chi.

Two weeks in Thailand would definitely help me if I was stressed and depressed!
I'd go to Mai Hong Song and book a trek, then I'd fly to Chiang Mai and do some shopping, a cookery course and have a Thai Massage each day. Then I'd travel down to Ayyuthaya and look at the old city as it's fascinating. Then I'd go to Kanchanaburi, see the museum and the cemetaries, go on an elephant trek and rafting and journey to the waterfalls and swim below them. Finally, I'd finish in Bangkok and do some shopping, visit the Grand Palace, visit the snake farm, take a boat up the river and have a couple of pampering days in town.

Boy - I wish I was going!

sure it will help you! just make sure you have your problems solved as much as you can before you go to thailand, so you can have a stress-free vacation. on the contrary to what other people are saying, thailand is actually very cheap, so except for the flight ticket, you wont spend an extreme amount. head for the islands, get a massage, swim in the sea, get your hair plaited, be pampered, ride an elephant, see a culture show, eat from street stalls, eat in restaraunts, spend a few days as a tourist, try being a local for a while. thailand is an awesome place...im sure you'll love it!

Thai people have a very light-hearted and fun loving attitude toward life.. I do not know the causes of your depression or stress but this can be a great place to be... though I think that Pattaya would be one of the worst destinations here that you could choose.. the islands can be lovely and the abundant sunshine might help too..

You might want to tour around - we have some lovely temples here that are very peaceful. The beaches are fantastic - I guess it depends on what you like to do.. But the Thai people are the real attraction - - come - and smile, they like that..

Time away from your stress may help you to re-focus and order things in your mind.

But you don't have to spend that much money to do it! You'll end up stressed by how much you spent!

And you shouldn't go alone coz you'll end up more depressed!

Take time for you with your friends: go shopping, go away for a long weekend.

What ever you do or where ever you go, use the time to re-evaluate your life and work out why you're feeling so low.

Then come back and attack those things!

Good luck: I hope you feel better soon!

Yes. It will help you, and it will take away whatever problems you're having. I was the same way when i went, and i loved it so much i stayed for one year.
I would suggest you head for the island of Koa Toa, and a little place in Hin Wong Bay called Hin Wong Bungalows (you'll find it in your guide books).

No I don`t believe if you are stressed & depressed that anywhere would be good right now, best to save your money until you feel well enough to cope with the slightest thing going wrong which, at present I don`t think you are.Get well soon.

I don't think Thailand apart from a very ZEN place will get you out!Try something less "funky" in Asia.
