I have found a pretty nice used car, but the cigarette odor inside, is terrible.
Anybody know if the residual smoke odor can be eliminated? This is the only thing that I have reservations about.

Visit a car dealership and ask if you can purchase an odor bomb. it is a canned fragrance that you turn on, and it will just run out when it is done. You leave the car running with the ac on for 30 minutes and it saturates the car and internal parts with a extremely potent deodorizer. I use it for cars with Cat urine odors which are way worse than smoke, but smokers odors are gone very easily. They cost about 15 dollars, but read the directions very carefully. It may say to not enter the car for an hour. Definitely buy the car if that is your only concern.

Don't pass it up! You can have the car detailed. And if the company doesn't provide it, call a cleaning place like ServiceMaster. They have an ionizer thing to suck the smell out. After that, put a dish of vanilla under the seats. That'll suck up the odor. With enough time, it'll go away. Trust me. My parents were smokers and I inherited their car.

You can't totally get rid of cigarette odor, but they have lots of things to do a really good cover up job. Try upholstery cleaner, clean the carpets, put liquid air freshener down the a/c vents and leave an open can of air freshener in the car, windows rolled up for several days..works pretty good. My daughter smoked real bad and after a couple of weeks, we took 99% of the smell out. But can you really pass up the price/offer...weigh the issues.

As hard as you try that cigarette smoke is probable not going anywhere. I don't think thats something you'd want to have other people smelling in your car too. After a while it would probably just drive you crazy. There are plaenty of cars out there and I'm sure theres another great deal minus the odor.

Buy the car if you feel that it is that good. Tell them that because of the odor you are going to have to put money into it to get it fresh again. Then take it to a detailer, I am sure they face this problem daily.

Nope. Try cleaning the ac filters if the smell comes from the air vents and pour car scent in the air vents, then get the whole interior of your car shampoo-cleaned. It wont cost alot relative to the price of "good smell" youl get!

Get the car dry cleaned. Keep the windows open while parking for some days. Use a car freshner to get rid of the odour.

You can NOT get rid of cigarette odors... they can be temporarily masked with Frebreeze, but the smell will still be in the airconditioner and heater.... and you'll especially smell it if the car has been closed up. It's what YOU decide - can you live with it??

No - I'd buy the car and try any and all suggestions to get rid of the smell until I found one that worked.
