Sorry you failed again. But, looking at it rationally, it's only a manoeuvring test at 30 MPH or below, so it's not really difficult. After all, there's no motorway driving, no night driving, no simulated rain or snow driving, no high speed driving. Yet if you pass this basic test, you are allowed to do all those things... in any car from a Mini to a Porsche 911! Crazy is it not? It's a bit like giving a person with a basic private pilot's licence authority to fly a jet fighter. So just take more lessons until you feel absolutely confident, then have another go. And good luck! [NB The examiner can have a face like an old boot, but as long as you are competent s/he will pass you.]

I passed my driving test the 4th time i took it.
The first time I will admit I was not ready and so that is why I failed.
The second time I was not close enough to the kerb when reversing round a corner - a ridiculous reason to fail because there were no other vehicles or pedestrians nearby so why have to stay so tight?!
The third time I failed because when parking in a bay my front tyre was slightly on the white line - why fail me for that because you see hundreds of cars parked poorly in car parks - it's not a health hazard!!!
I think examiners have targets to meet and if they have already passed their quota of drivers that week they can not pass anymore as it looks bad on their records. It's just pot luck as to which examiner you get and what kid of a week they are having.
Don't give up trying - good luck next time

Not at all...some may be a little more chatty than others but they are just doing their job. If you are prepared properly for test you should pass fine...if you do something silly or lack of experience causes you to make a mistake the examiner has to mark the test accordingly. Practice with a good instructor and take test when you feel you can drive without much help or prompts. Good luck!

They are just miserable and stick to the facts of how you drove in determining whether to pass or not, if youre driving and questions reached the standard you will pass if not fail. But they are always miserable bastards pass or fail. When I passed, examiner was a miserable git throughout the test, i even drove on after reversing round the corner, then 30 seconds later he said, "thank you. drive on when you're ready" was about as good as his sense of humour got. At the end he says, that is the end of the test and im pleased to inform you that you;ve passed, i say " oh thank you mate, im pleased about that" he says in miserable voice "yes im sure you are ...........GOODBYE. So they are always miserable sods, pass or fail. They are just there to dispassionately assess your driving skills basically and love being miserable

Mine was a miserable old bugger - but I still passed 1st time.
Regardless of their personality, the whole purpose of their job is to ensure that you meet the required standard of driving before you are unleashed on the roads alone. Ultimately this is for your own and everyone else's safety. If you are good enough you will pass regardless of how mean or miserable the examiner is.

No not really, when i took my driving test 14 years ago i was tested by the head tester - a rather attractive lady as it turned out who was very friendly. She failed me the first time and passed me the second - and i banged her for about 6 months afterwards as well :)

driving tests have a points total given for each fault also dangerous actions by a learner means instant failure check your failure sheet and speak with your instructor about the faults you were marked down for it's a myth that examiners have a failure total to keep to its just that on the days you took your test you did not meet the required standard.
