Could you give chapter and verse on that one? Perhaps you should read the Bible aand see what Jesus really had to say.

The passage on hating your mother and father refers to loving Jesus. To be a follower you must love Jesus more than anything else, to the point where if you compared your love for Jesus to that of your parents it would be like you hate them. there are different degrees and types of love and Jesus owns the greatest of them.
by the way the passage is Luke 14:26 If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple.

In life we are to love God above all else, including mother, father, sister, brother or anything of this world.
Your question is good in explaining why we are called to a community when reading the Word of God. Each of us look at scripture in different ways, (which is positive) but we definitely need the community and elders of our church to discern and listen to our view to be certain we are not deceiving ourselves. (which is very easy to do)

Take a moment and read, in context, what you're attempting to build a position with BEFORE you try to present it as a (baited) question.
You'll get a higher quality of answers that way.
