Every school has it's own policy on absences. Your best bet is to get a school handbook or call directly to the school to find out.
The schools in my town have a policy where after 5 unexcused absence (absences without a doctors note) the child is required to go to summer school or repeat the grade

I would say it depends on whether or not the absences are excused. If they are excused due to illness or other extreme circumstances, as long as the parents and student are working closely with the school to keep up, there shouldn't be a problem. (I had a cousin who lost a battle with a chronic disease. There were many times that she couldn't physically attend school but studied at home and make A's and B's.) It really boils down to effort.
If the absences are unexcused, good luck! (Generally, I've seen 10 days unexcused as the rule.)

there's a pair severe colleges interior the Hampton Roads area of Va that's no longer permitting particular training pupil to flow directly to the subsequent grade till the particular training pupil has won a grade of C or greater useful in ALL of their training. it extremely is very unlawful yet they're doing merely that. those very comparable colleges that did this, have a considerable lawsuit against them because of this coverage of no longer advertising the particular training pupil to the subsequent grade point regardless of if the pupil has the grades and examine out scores to be promoted.

It all depends on your schools policies. My school you could miss 5.5 days a 9 weeks before you failed the grading period and if you failed 2 grading periods you fail the grade in general
