Will the candidates with the best stance on illegal Immgration be voted in this election year? How do you think this will change America's political scene? What group will be affected the most?

In some areas I think it is. Unfortunately, they are finally bringing it up at a time when Republicans are viewed poorly. Since the limits on immigration crowd tend to be populist Republicans (not McCain's sort) that means they have a real uphill battle, having nothing to do with immigration.

I am voting immigration despite not agreeing with the Republican Senate candidate on other issues. He is more 'socially' conservative than I am. However, if we don't make this our biggest issue, Congress will continue to blow off our opinions, despite their knowledge of where the majority stands.

We need to vote November 7, and support recounts to check voter validity, as well.

A#1 on my list. Change the political scene? Oh yes. It should effect big business and illegal immigrants the most. I'm hoping the free ride is over on both ends.

I live in Arizona, so immigration is a really important issue in this election. I think people want someone who will be tough on immigration, as overall it seems people are tired of accommodating those who cross into our country illegally. However, our country has become so partisan, lots of people will vote party line regardless.

Both of my state senators voted in favor of the border bill...but they're a little weak around the edges, on this one, so's the governor...they've all got a long-standing history of being pretty friendly on the whole business...and, that's how you get elected, appeal to as many people as you can. Problem is, you start making promises to people that aren't even US citizens so you can get elected, you'll end up finding yourself pressured to start
legislating in their favor...I think integrity's a hard one for em to maintain on this one...'conflict of interest' doesn't even begin to describe it! LOLOL

Bluntly spoken, some of our politicians and PAC's out there see NO problem with selling the country off to various and sundry foreign interests...

No, it is not.....Haven't you looked at the most recent polls? Most republicans support immigration reform, that is no amnesty and secure borders, however, the GOP is poised to lose the House, they are behind in the polls, I guess this issue wasn't so important, but we have yet to see....I think the biggest issue in this coming election is how the GOP has handled the Iraq war....

Its one of the issues, but I wouldn't say its the major issue. In certain states: Florida, Texas, California its more pertinent and yes in those states ones position could make the difference between winning and losing the election.
