Training classes are the best thing for training your dog. Offers socialization and working with a trainer is invaluable in molding your dog into a happy, we behaved pet.

dogs used to be trained by force.. if you wanted a dog to sit you pushed down on his bum.. now most training is done by reward.. using a dogs natural desires and actions to the trainers advantage
they learn by repetition

You'll have to spend a couple of days with the dog 24 hours a day. Watch where he goes and just before he's able to lift his leg, take him out. After he goes outside, positive reinforcement.

you can pay for a dog trainer or buy the book that shows you how to train certain dog. check your pet shop for more info. or go on-line.
