they are a great car, the newer ones are cute!! I never seen an ugly girl driving one!!

There are very good on gas. Some claim they are fun to drive.
They are VERY safe when you look at crash tests. A mechanical engineer friend of mine said it was the perfect car.
Consider something else if you live in an area where it snows though. No VW does very well in the snow, unless it has serious snow tires.
And she's right. Hot chicks drive bugs for some reason.

They're junk. I work at an auto auction ( one of the largest in U.S. ) and have driven many of the new 'bugs'. And, speaking of bugs, they're loaded. AC usually don't work, electric window switches go out early on ..... it's one thing after another. Oh yeah, the cup holders are practially useless. They're stuck up under the dash in front of the shifter.
Too bad they don't make the older ones or that they don't make the new ones similar to the older ones.
OH, as for hot chicks, that's probably why you see them. They're sitting in their cars 'cause they're broke down on the side of the road.

We had one when the new model had first come out around 1999 or so. We had some problems with it, but everyone I know who has one now absolutely loves them. (And they are adorable!) VW makes really superb cars, generally speaking.

I personally don't like them but they're very gas efficient and they are very easy to work on.
