I think it's expected these days that people will stay in school longer, preventing them (usually) from marrying earlier. Not everyone wants to get married right out of high school, with no job or anything - education can take a long time. Personally, I want to be financially stable and secure, in a job that I enjoy, before taking such a big step with another person. For me it's about being prepared. At the end of this school year I will have 6 years of post-secondary education ... and for some people, they will still want more.

Best Regards,
Holly

Because statistics show that early marriage is more likely to end in divorce now a days. Not that it doesn't work for some!
But people today are wanting to establish their careers before a family and take their time and not settle. What ever works for an individual/couple and makes you happy, is really all that should matter

AC to me it happens bcas now a days every one want to be independent whether its boy or girl and in this competitive environment it is very difficult to make your future secure and stable........and off course apart from this the second reason is that ,now everyone is free and so before marriage everyone wants to enjoy on their own money before getting into a boundation.

For the youth in the West they want to get more education and become financially stable. For the youth in Asia they want to avoid parents dominance, quarrels and many children.

Because marriage is the precursor to children. In order for you to dedicate your life and your heart fully to your spouse and children you give up some freedom. By marrying late, you can do some things like travel, work on a career, spend money on yourself, go to school full-time, learn who you are. . .these are difficult to do with spouse and children in tow.

That's why I married late.

Well, an increasing number of youths these days are the children of divorce and broken homes, so they see marraige as a sort of pointless institution.

So it appears to me.

I married when I was 33. Personally, I wanted to be financially stable and emotionally ready before getting married.
