First child, 14 years ago left alot of excess skin on my abdomen... I was 5' 4", 110lbs before i got pregnant and my child was 9lbs 9oz. I was back to pre pregnancy weight in about 4 months, but the skin never returned to normal. Now after my third child I am in better physical shape than ever, defined muscle everywhere but my tummy and I would like to not have to worry about raising my arms over my head and having the baggy skin stick out. Is there anything else that I can do to at least improve the appearance of my tummy? I am 31 years old and not about to give up and wear baggy sweaters.

Surgery may be the only option to get rid of that! But, you know what? You shouldn't be ashamed of it! Many, many women have this, and we just learn to accept it! It doesn't mean you're not beautiful!

Stretch the skin tight with your hands and see how many stretch marks you have. If the skin is baggy from many stretch marks then they're not going away and the skin will stay baggy.

You can help a bit by losing any extra "after baby" weight, but you might have to consider a tummy tuck. Some new moms on the Kimkins Diet discussion board were talking about this yesterday and how they would pay for it.

Due to the skin stretching the way it does if precautionary measures were not taken theres not alot you can do. Yes exercise does help w/ alot, but there are elastagens in the skin and if not kept up once they have maxed out, you cant fix. Thats why they recommend using stretch mark creams and lotions becuase there is ingredients in them to help w/ just that. If you have ever seen ppl after gastric bypass surgerys and watched any of the plastic surgery shows you will understand it a lil better. I'm on my 4th preg. and swear by the lotions. If stretching not to bad you can get those toner lotions you see at stores and online they do help.

I don’t recommend plastic surgery. Actually, I’m against it (except in accident/emergency situations). But that’s just my opinion. There’s this great book called “Hit the spot (How to target, tone, and slim your problems areas)” by Denise Austin. Here’s an example of abdominal exercise:
•Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet on the floor.
•Press your lower back firmly into the floor. There should be no arch in your back at all.
•Rest your head in your hands but keep your neck and shoulders relaxed.
•Tighten and contract your abdominal and slowly lift your shoulders off the floor.
•Exhale as you crunch.
•Slowly lower your shoulders to the floor and repeat.
•Watch your form.
•Make sure your abs stay tight throughout the exercise.
•Don’t do this quickly; keep slow and focused.
This exercise will REDUCE the baggy skin. My mum had the same problem. She used the book and I’ve seen the result. You should use an oil or cream for your stretch marks. I use Bio-oil. It’s great. However, this exercise will also help reduce the stretch marks. You will not see results the next day of course, but keep working at it. And don’t give up. As I said I don’t recommend plastic surgery; instead keep that money to buy some new, great, and sexy clothes. Good luck, and let me know how it goes.

I'm so sorry, but without surgery, I don't see a way. I'm in the same boat. I'm a small person as well and my skin really stretched too. I've had two kids. I lost all the weight and more and still have a bit of a baggy belly. I'm amazed at these celebs who have kids and still have amazing tummies. No bikinis for me.

Yes, I'm sorry to say, your only option to get rid of the excess skin is plastic surgery. No amount of exercising or even more weightloss will get rid of it. You said you were toned, so I'm guessing you've been doing your ab exercises. You can see that it has done nothing with the excess skin. I'm sorry to tell you but the ONLY way to get rid of it is a tummy tuck.

Your only true solution will probably be a tummy tuck...
