Yes it is ..it's actually very bad... wether you chemically straighten it, iron it or blow dry it straight..I mean, who doesn't straighten their hair now a days. Thats why you should also take care of your hair. I have been dying and straightening my hair since the 11th grade and I am 24 years old now. My hair is not the most healthy but its not damaged, people that actually know everything my hair goes through actually give me compliments and ask what i do to it so here it goes....

1- you might think this is crazy but i buy the revlon hair dye (just to get the little conditioner that comes with the hair dye)
- put it on your hair at least 2-3 times a month..
- wrap your hair with a plastic bag (thin grocery bag)
- get a thin towel that can cover your whole head and heat it in
the microwave for 1-2 min until very hot....then wrap it around
your head and leave on until it gets cold and repeat until you
have done it for a total of 15 min.
2- get a hair cut every 2-3 months.. getting rid of the damaged tips always makes hair looking healthy.

3- I use "chenice" products ... the multi-vitamin oil..this item is awesome its not oil its just like putting water in your hair it hydrates it its absolutely awesome... and i also use the chenice sheen spray which i use after styling my hair..it gives it this shine and it smells great... it gets that burnt smell off your hair if you know what i mean...

Hope this helps girl!

Is Straightening Your Hair Bad

2016-11-16 03:16:04 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

Straightening your hair can cause your hair to become very dry and many split ends can occur. But there are many products that you can use to minimize these effects such as shampoo that relieves damaged hair. You can also use Treseme's Heat Spray. I use it all the time and it protects your hair from the heat the straightener puts on your hair. I also recommend not straightening your hair everyday. This can be very damaging for your hair. However, with the right products, don't be worried to do it every other or every three days.

Depends on the method. Granted none of them are good, but some are easier on the hair then others. Chemical straighening is very hard on the hair and can lead to breakage. Irons are not as bad, but they still dry the hair out over time. Ceramic Irons, and Ionic straightening are supposed to be good, but I cant say for sure if they are. Oh and if you chemically straighten never ever use anything with lye it it. Lye is so bad and it can make your hair fall out. If you straighten you hair its best not to do it too frequently and use a good conditioner to restore moisture.

Is straightening your hair bad for hair?

Yes, it's terrible for your hair, but you need to put a straighteining balm or serum based spray in your hair before straightening to minimize the damage.

When done EVERY SINGLE day it is bad. You should only straighten your hair sparingly to minimize damage and always apply straigthening balm or serum to your hair before you touch that thing to your hair.

Yes it is very bad for our hair. The iron is about 400 degrees and it clamps to your hair and burns it. If you straighten your hair a lot stop now if you want to have nice hair later...GOOD LUCK!!!

Anything that applies heat or chemicals to your hair isn't good for it.

You damage the hair shaft and the follicle, and you'll end up with dry, brittle, damaged hair...and in same cases, you'll lose it.

Find some style and cut that compliments your hair type and face. Then enjoy what you have and realize there are people like me with straight-as-a-stick hair who would LOVE to curl...or even the occasional wave...or crinkle.

i would say don't straight ur hair because i used to do it everyday and my hair fell so much and i got split ends on the bottom. It really damages ur hair. trust me. i would say do it whenever u want to go somewhere or just straight it with the blow dryer. put something like oil on ur hair first then. it protects it from getting damage. but girl don't iron it too much.
