Oh yes, politicians and eventual leaders use religion for votes, for new laws, etc,....

I think religion should be taught exclusively in the privacy in peoples homes, or in churches, not mass advertised. It is people like me that realize that there are so many religions, and so many people that don't have a religion, and do not need to be subjected to it.

Well....YES, of course they do.

We have a president in the White House right now who has been know to address the Southern Baptist Convention; offering praise and encouragement. If that is not manipulation of the public, I fail to see what is.

PRESIDENT BUSH DELIVERS REMARKS VIA SATELLITE TO THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION ANNUAL MEETING, AS RELEASED BY THE WHITE HOUSE

JUNE 15, 2004

SPEAKER: GEORGE W. BUSH, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

[*] BUSH: Thank you all. Thank you very much, Jack. Thank you all, very much. Thank you all. Thanks a lot. I appreciate that kind introduction from a fellow Texan. And I'm grateful for the chance to speak to this annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention. Jack, you've done a great job, and I'm proud to call you, friend. Laura and I are also thankful for your prayers. I have felt them at crucial hours. Your convention has a proud tradition going back to your first gathering in Augusta, Georgia almost 160 years ago. You represent more than 16 million Southern Baptists and congregations all across our country, and many others who serve as missionaries far from home. And all of you are living out the high-calling of spreading the good news and proclaiming the Kingdom of God. "

Are you kidding? That's the oldest political trick in the book. It predates kissing babies and glad-handing anyone who gets in their way! Think of the "Holy Roman Empire" who were out to conquer the world. They convinced all those they conquered that there was only one true religion and killed those who would not obey (although since they couldn't control the belief, we have many holidays and symbols that were pagan, such as Easter and eggs - both fertility signs). Look at today, who do you see being persecuted as a way to 'unite the nation'? Anyone who is Muslim. It's not racial profiling, it's not religious profiling, it's propoganda to keep the republican party in the spotlight and hopefully swing votes their way!

Absolutely. And everyone who hasn't questioned their religion is COMPLETELY susceptible in both this and other countries. Again, this is important: everyone who is attached to their religion and can not allow for any questioning of it WILL BE manipulated by others. This is a FACT.

not just politicians, everybody use religion to manipulate masses...remember that there is just one true religion, and it is the one that matches for you...religion is a personal thing...
