Or would a cervical spine injury I have had for years be a more likely cause of numbness in my feet? I have been to my doctor, but she put me on antidepressants and gapabentin and it really did nothing. Recently I lost my health insurance and was unable to refill my prozac and gapabentin scripts. So far, I haven't noticed any difference in my feet or my mood. My feet are still numb and painful and at times it's hard to just get up and do daily chores. It's getting to me. I have lost close to fifty pounds in the last 6 or 7 months thinking that it would maybe help my feet, but they continue to get worse. What started out as 3 toes on my right foot, has turned into numbness in both my feet all the way to the ankle. Any advise?

High triglycerides levels may be associated with high total cholesterol levels, high LDL and VLDL levels. All these raised levels may potentiate atherosclerosis which can cut down on the blood supply of the nerves that are supplying the nerve stimulus and are responsible for the muscles of your feet. If it is the problem, it can spread further to affect more nerves and consequently more muscles and parts of your body.

However the best thing is that you have reduced a lot of weight which shall ultimately be good for your body and will stop the progression of the atherosclerosis, if it was the problem initially. Please do get checked up for diabetes as well.

Take some multivitamins which should include Cyanocobalamine as well (B12). Rapid loss of weight may also have affected the minerals and vitamins intake from your lowered diet. Therefore a supplementation started at the earliest would help you limit your problem and maybe provide you relief within a fortnight of continuous intake of multivits. Good luck.
