Well, it depends on the terrorist, doesn't it? There are all kinds of motivations. The ones that the U.S. is currently pretending to fight are religious and social extremists.

They are unemployed people who has been isolated and rejected from the society, so they adopt radical thinking coz they have resentment to people.
