If by pink eye you mean conjunctivitis, then yes it is very contagious, but you can relieve the symptoms at home.
Bathe your eyes with a little salt water, made with cooled boiled water. Use a separate piece of cotton wool for each eye. If it's not too advanced, this can even get rid of it. I have used this method and it does work.

As all of the others have told you, there is NO home remedy for Pink Eye and if someone tries to tell you of one and you try it,it will ONLY give you some temporary relief.
There is a bacteria that gives you Pink Eye and only an Opthalmologist can give you the medicine necessary to clear this up.
You can put a cold compress on your eye to help give some relief until you get to an Opthalmologist.
I say that you need to go to an Opthalmologist as most family Dr's aren't so familiar with the drops/ointment needed to clear up the problem and Optometrist are limited as to the type of prescriptions they can write and usually the drops/ointment needed to cure your Pink Eye is a prescription they can not write.
Until you get in to see a Dr you need to be very careful to wash your hands, don't share towels/wash cloths, don't let anyone sleep on your pillowcase (and be sure you change your present pillowcase after you start medication so as not to reinfect yourself) and watch wiping your eyes as Pink Eye is HIGHLY contagious and can spread FAST!(If you use a tissue to wipe your eye and forget and lay it down and someone comes up and picks it up to even throw it away, they can get Pink Eye if they don't wash their hands and then touch their eyes.)
Even with medication you will need to still be careful as you will still be contagious until the whole problem is resolved which should not take more than a few days.

Ouch, because pink eye is so contagious you don't want to bother with home remedies. See a doctor as soon as possible. Pink can be spread so easily you really don't want to give it a chance. Until them make sure you are washing your hands very often and warn others around you to do the same.

Go see your doctor. They may or may not prescribe anything because like antibiotics, they are not prescribing medication for pink eye as much as the use to. My daughter had allergic pink eye and they didn't prescribe anything. The are a few different types of pink eye and you need to find out what type you have. If you have to wait until tomorrow to see your doctor, use warm or cold compresses on your eye (which ever feels best).

No homne remedy that I know of.
Don't try over the counter meds.
Go to your doctor and he will prescribe ointment and/or drops.
I had pinkeye once and thought it would never go away. After three days, I began to feel better.
Don't touch your eyes with your fingers.

There are no home remedies.
Go to the doctor and get some prescription eye-drops.
I was even given pills on one occasion.
