Is it possible to lose about 20 pounds by Christmas (8 weeks from now)? I plan on going to the gym and doing 40 minutes of cardio 5-6 days per week (walking on treadmill at 4.0 and doing the elliptical machine) and a yoga class once per week. Do I need to amp it or will my plan yield my wanted results? If it matters...I'm 30 and currently weigh 148, 5'-4".

Twenty pounds is possible but the healthy weight loss is 2 pounds per week or 16 pounds in 8 weeks. You may want to alternate your workout with weight lifting because building muscle (which would NOTmake you look like Incredible Hulk) will help you loose more fat than water.

Good day!

You're going to need a strict diet plan to go with your exercise. I recommend this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

Yes it is possible to loose 20 pounds in 8 weeks on your program, I don't think you need to amp it at all. Even just 20 min. of cardio is enough yield results, so you'll be fine. Just don't overdo your workout, you need to give your muscles time to repair themselves. Also it's important to remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so don't just look at the numbers on the scale. With your workout I am sure you are gaining muscle in place of fat, so keep that in mind. You might be toning your body, but the scale might not change much (muscle weighs more than the fat it's taking the place of), so please don't get hung up on one number on the scale. I hope this helped and good luck.
