No it's not true cause I did that and when I let my lover go, he just accepted it and went on with his life. Stories I heard after that were not good ones and made me think less of him. And after that I didn't want him back.

i've heard it all my life,,,, i think it just depends if they love you back, my experiance was horrible i loved this guy...i had to let him go & he never come back so it wasn't meant to be
