My two best friends broke up. He broke up with her, and ever since he's been acting really mean to her. But whenever *I* ask what's up, he always acts like nothings the matter and everythings all peachy keen. He's been flirting with just about every girl he can come in contact, and he's started burning things again after he stopped. He refuses to just talk to her so they can move on. He's a guy, and so he was really perverted in the first place, but now he's just being over the top--he made a 'joke' about a 14 year old girl and her 4 year old sister sleeping in the same bed!
Why does he do this? Why is he being such a jackass to my friend? Why won't he talk to me, and tell me whats going on, acting like everythings normal even though he doesn't talk to her anymore? What's going on?

he's immature and doesn't know how to handle the situation. i would try not to let it bother you OR HER for that matter.

Well when people break up, generally they dont want to see each other or talk to each other any more. (hence the break up) one of my favorite quotes is very similar to your situation. "Breaking up and wanting to still be friends is like your dog dying and your mom saying 'It's ok we can still keep it' "
the point is that the rela is dead and guys are just jerks. maybe if you found out why they broke up from either your friend or the jerk, then you'll get a better understanding of the matter.

I think he is just going through a love stage that he will eventually get over.
