Think, my friends. .. .. .THINK. .. .. Would it make YOU HAPPY to see 'someone' straighten-out the problems on this earth?

EDIT* - Would it make any difference to you if His name was JESUS?

Ewen - Not me, sir. His name is JESUS.

gistoryte - Your notion has conspicuously left something out. You say that you are responsible for your own destiny. That is true, to some extent. However, what if you were perfect? And yet, there were many who wanted to kill, beat, maim, steal, cheat, lie, etc. etc.

Soooo, how does your theory of 'SELF', protect you from others?

a_delphic and Born again - I get your point, however, I was addressing something else. But point well taken.

The Anti-Christ may do that, so my answer is no.

So, be careful what you wish for, you may get want you want.

Your question plays into something that I've always thought about believers. You want to be rescued. So to answer your question...

Yes. There are times when I wish someone would come along and rescue me. Be it from debt or anything else that is troubling. Then, in very short order, I realize that as I am the creator of my own reality, I should stop the wishful thinking and get on with "creating my own reality!"

If we all stopped looking outward for help, or outward in order to blame another for our troubles, we, as members of humanity, would be in a much better place. We don't need rescuing. We need to first face our own problems and deal with them effectively then turn our attention to the greater world. From there, a healthy dose of tolerance would be in order. Treating the other with kindness and a modicum of understanding would do wonders in making our home, this earth, a far better place to live.

No, problems good. Happiness bad.

If this is just another lead to bring nonbelievers to theism, let me stop you. Yes, it would be nice to have something come and straighten out problems. That doesn't justify believing in God though. I'd like for some of my clothes to be ironed. That doesn't mean I should believe in a magical maid that will come around and take care of this for me.

Yes and No. It would make me happy to have earth's problems straightened out, but it would make me sad that we could not achieve it on our own.

i wish it was that simple
problem is we have free will
and the majority of suffering
is caused by humans

if you can find a way to make all humans live from love and compassion then i would cheer you on

No. Who is this someone? Look below the surface and it may not be a good thing.
