I am thinking about getting my hair streaked and I need to know how much it costs because my parents won't pay for it.

If you are going to a salon and using a cap (pulling hair threw holes ) the cost is about $50.00, but the highlights may not stay in a s long, and less dramatic results. If you have them foil your hair (i recommend this method) it will cost around $75.00 to $100.00 depending on the length of your hair. This is worth it to me as the highlights/lowlights are more dramatic, and stay in much longer, also touch ups are easier. The last option is a home kit, generally with the cap method as well, which will run about $20.00, but this requires an experienced person that you trust with your tresses, its a risk. but i think most of us have gone this route at one time or another. good luck!

Grocery store kits (and they work well) are about $10.00......and when you are doing it for the first time, be patient and ....if you can, just streak around the front part to make sure you like it.

That is the easiest way and cheapest way and you control how much you add to your look. When you get your hair streaked professionally, they give you the look that they think you need!

All depends on your length and texture, and how much you want done. I get "full highlights", my hair is long and fine and it costs me 140.00 in Canuck Bucks. I also get cellephane on it afterwards to make it shiny. Its worth it. In big towns and salons, getting your hair streaked/dyed (like in LA or NY) can cost 500.00 to 1000.00 dollars for stylists who works on movie stars!!! There's definitely a range depending on the experience and calibre of the stylist.

My niece paid $75 for hers.

Get a kit from Wal-Mart and you and a girlfriend have a streaking party and do your own. Maybe your mom will help too and you can have lots of fun.

Just had highlights (same thing?) put in for first time at a chain salon (MD, USA) and it ran about 50. Wanted it done professionally to see if the look was good (and to make sure that SOMEONE knew what to do if it failed!)---but will prob get kits in future.

For a good colorist about 60. But its well worth it. Trust me I tried going to cheaper colorists, and well..... you get what you pay for right? If you want it done right then you have to pay more for it .
