Is it too diifficult to say God is God and I am not? Do many just dig in because saying their is something greater than themselves is uncomfortable? Even though deep down God calls them to His truth?

That's really a fascists thing, to call people Unbelievers.

I don't believe or unbelieve. The bible is of no concern to me. I know that there is a continuity in the universe that affects everything as a whole. I'm not comfortable or uncomfortable with that, it's just how it is. Well, actually, maybe I am comfortable with it, because I don't need to convince myself that it's "God". If anything, I would say that people create God for their own comfort, to relieve the fear of not knowing.

So now the question to you is, Will you admit that there is something greater than yourself, and you CAN'T know what it is, REALLY? Can you admit that? It is a fact that you can't know.
Please be so kind as to answer my question in you "add details" section. Thank you.

Do believers go to church because staying home would mean admitting there's no greater power in the universe? Is it too difficult to admit that your life might not have an innate purpose? Do many just dig in because saying there's nothing greater to guide them is too uncomfortable?

I find that both sides are rigid. When people come and say that God is unconditional love and there is no sin, no hell, no judgement, fundamentalists react very strongly. I say this and I usually get at least 3 thumb downs. But I'm lucky. When Jesus said it, they not only butchered his message, they nailed him to a cross. And they then made him into an image of what people want him to be -- where there are the saved versus the unsaved, where there's striving to get into heaven, etc. If you're not open to what is written in this answer, how can you expect others to be open to spirituality? Seriously, this needs to be thought about...

Which god are you talking about? You've gotta be more specific here. Mars, Odin, Shiva, Jupiter, Hathor, Quetzalcoatl, Kwatee, Loki, Set, Ilmatar, Elegua, Hades, Izanagi, Jehovah, Pyerun, Marduk, Inti? Any of those?

I'm not so sure it has anything to do with that. Ideas rooted in antiquity simply are not reconcilable with common sense and when the religious community only gives on model of faith, one that doesn't mesh, than people don't come to faith. It's because those who present faith only present one model.

you miss the point. people don't believe in god because they don't believe god created the earth and everything on it. they believe in science. it really is that simple.

So, this god then? Got any evidence it exists? Maybe your faith is just a fear that your life is all your fault?
