If you are committed to the Lord then a football game wouldn't exactly confront the Lord's power. Football can be taped/recorded (that's why there's technology) and if you still respect the Lord a game wouldn't be such a loss to cry over. A question to you , which is more important, The Lord or the game? if you answer the game then you are not committed to follow any of God's will.
I would rather give up an entire day for the Lord than watch football (even if it's one of my favorite sports)
:) :) :) :) :)

Bottles, very good question. But know that what God has shown me is that worship is an ongoing thing, not just at church.
For instance, I'm home sick with a cold today and so is my daughter and because we are contagious, we are staying home (kids are not allowed in the kids service if they are contagious) but I can still praise and worship God at home.
What God has shown me is that commitment is a daily walk, which means that I need to be in the Bible, and understanding what God is saying to my life right now.

You're telling me. I like watching football and don't have an idea about most of the rules *smile*....but yes, I love going to church, I practically run. My church teaches from the bible...and is alive in the spirit of Jesus Christ. Our praise and worship lifts the roof off, and how I admire those who are diligent in being doers of His word, not hearers only! From the first day I walked into Calvary Chapel, I saw people devoted to His word, to learning it and practicing it. I consider myself fortunate to be sitting under such good bible teaching. My life has completely changed because of learning about Jesus. And you know what? This morning I have an extra hour to enjoy the beauty of his creation (it's a glorious day outside) while I get ready to run into His arms.
Whooohoooooo!

I don't just worship my Savior on Sunday (nor do I watch football). We are called to make our lives a testament to Him, not just fill a pew on Sunday morning & Wednesday night.
I would much prefer to 'really know' the Lord than the rules to any game.

Jesus and God are always on the A-list, even while watching a game. 'Yes, Lord!' follows a touch down! 3 hours? 1 hour at mass. CFL has a much faster game. Check it out.

I can listen to Gospel music and allow the music and words in the songs minister to me and my deepest need, all throughout the day, evening, and night, just as I can show myself able, ready, and willing to testify about God in my life, and God's realness. I've got my life as my testimony, and am not selfish about sharing my testimony either.
I've never bothered getting into sports, don't understand sports, so that part of your question doesn't apply to me.
I've got a lifelong commitment to striving to be as much a blessing to people as God allows me to receive my own blessings, understanding I AM blessed.

in my opinion, i pass to pass all of them. i recognize you will be able to think of I contradicted myself by potential of exclaiming so, yet I nevertheless stand by potential of my answer through fact, although you are the ideal option while speaking approximately how James wrote that understanding is the "saving faith," each person might have their doubts. the significant element is that we don't enable those doubts take over our faith thoroughly, yet we learn from them to grow to be greater proper. in spite of everything, questioning and believing the Gospel is actual facilitates you to enhance your faith so which you will be able to correctly recognize God, and as a result, recognize the Gospel is actual. i'm uncertain what you advise once you're saying sense, yet I interpret the term to symbolize you are able to sense God working on your lifestyles. you are able to sense the non-public connection which you have with God. this sense which you have is a reassurance so as which you may properly recognize the Gospel is actual. So i think in precis of my answer, you have think of, sense, and believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is actual to have a stable faith and relationship with God earlier you may properly recognize that it quite is actual. right it rather is yet another question that I spoke back that would desire to help clean up my answer:

Ya really thing god cares much about brown nosing?
If you had commitment to the 'lord', you'd be spending your time out helping others instead of selfishly worrying about your own soul.
