You can't get rid of scoliosis. You need to see an orthopedic to monitor it because if you do not your curve may increase and compromise your internal organs. My son is 13 and was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 2. He has been being monitored every 4-6 months for the past 11 years and now he has to have spinal fusion because his curve has increased 20 degrees in 4 months do to a huge growth spurt. A curve in the spine will increase at least 1 degree per year. Scoliosis is a lot more serious than most people realize. I have seen one person whose mother didn't follow up on her treatment and she is pretty bad off and she is only 23 years old. Please take your condition seriously and follow up on all your appointments. Good luck. If you want to talk more about it email me at juice813@yahoo.com. My son and I are corresponding with another young lady with scoliosis and I am looking to start a support group because I am finding out that there is not a lot of information about it.

You can't get rid of it. Braces only work when the curve is between around 25 to 40 degrees. If you have a minor curve, you'd never consider surgery. But a minor curve won't bother you too much, pain-wise, and anyone that doesn't know you have a curve probably won't notice it. Chiropractors, message therapists, acupuncturists, etc., can't fix idiopathic scoliosis. These people adjust the soft, connective tissues and that may (or may not, you can't tell ahead of time) make you feel better, but remember, idiopathic scoliosis is not a connective tissue disease. Your spine is growing curved.

Before you see your doctor, prepare a list of questions to ask your doctor to address your concerns. Ask him/her at your next appointment.

You cannot get rid of scoliosis. It's important to see your doctor for regular screenings to keep an eye on it and provide any treatment, if necessary.
