Up to a certain age, women either want their own kids or none at all.
Single mums are worth a try, but then you're there's twice as much personal baggage to screw things up.

Some women may think you're not looking for a girlfriend for you but as a new mother for your kids.
You are not able to love a new girlfriend wholeheartedly & cannot do things on a minutes notice because your childrens have to come first (and rightly so)
A relationship with you is not just with you but with your children too and that will be scary for some women.
Being a single dad wont scare ALL women away just the ones not ready for commitment.
Isn't it better that these women are scared away at the beginning rather than just deciding it isn't for her when the kids know her and have accepted her as part of the family.
There is a woman out there for you & kids don't put everyone off.

k in the same turn why does being a single dad scare men away. the answer is the same for both sexs, they dont want to help raise another persons kids. some simply arent ready for the life style we chose.

Does it really scare women away?. I would think that would be a plus that a Dad is caring for his children by himself. You probably just aren't meeting the right kind of woman. Maybe some of them think that you are looking for a instant Mom and it scares them away.

Well, for a woman with no children it's daunting because she's worried you'll want her to be an instant mom and she may not be ready for that yet.
For a woman with children she obviously already knows what a great responsiblity children are, and how it is so difficult for children when people are being brought in and out of their lives constantly.
It's hard to be a second mom to children.
But trust me, you'll meet a girl who wants to be with you, kids and all. Maybe you're just looking in the wrong places.

some women are just not ready for the responsibility of taking care of children, especially someone elses.I find it hard to date ,as a single mum, although most of the men that i meet these days tend to have children already.Maybe look for somene who already has a child/children and then you will both be on thesame wave length

Because you are a rare phenomenon! Some people are scared of the unknown and what they don't understand.
