I hope so. But doctors and scientists need to agree on a cause before they can come up with a cure. Some say they just don't know what causes it, some say it is hereditary and some blame it on the mercury in vaccinations. I hope they do find a cure soon. My son has Asperger syndrome which is high-functioning autism.

I believe autism is caused by an inability to properly absorb nutrients from our food. I have seen first hand how getting rid of toxins in the body can support better absorption. Getting rid of our household cleaners is another helpful thing to do! Special diets also support these kids! My son in now 16 and everyday he gets better with his development! He is on the SCD (Standard carbohydrate Diet). He is such a calm and happy child now! He is learning to communicate more and more everyday! He attends a regular school and had a support staff to help him in his day. he has learned to read, write and draw ertremely well! With all the above changes in his diet and surroundings he has come out of his shell and enjoys being in our world today.
I also see a strong link with autism and Alzheimer's! I have a very good friend who had a dad with Alzheimer's. We talked often and the similar behaviours we saw in each was identical in so many ways!

I very much doubt there will be a cure within 10 yrs however, people live qualitive lives, as they mature, and learn strategies and believe me they do,
I work with 3 in their 30,s and they have a good life, play and work, Sandy T

I hope someday there will. I'm really more interested in the cause right now. I would like to know exactly where it came from - mercury, genes, trauma, etc. I'm OK with having an autistic child. He's incredible. But I want to know where it originated.
